He was bigger and faster than anybody else that he played against. Sometimes when someone is that physically dominant, you can't tell whether or not they are a natural football player. They have to go up against equal athletes before you can tell.

And thus, football coaches will always have a disadvantage to basketball and baseball coaches in recruiting. Basketball and baseball coaches see the top prospects play each other head to head, and football coaches rarely get that chance.
