There is a court case waiting to happen

take a fictional QB named JJ that injured himself the previous season. For whatever reason, JJ opts to enter the portal and transfer.

JJ finds a new school. Hopefully it works well for him. But somewhere along the line, the previously injured knee gives out, ending his career.

Is the first school or second school liable for the long term care of the injury? The NCAA is going to have to establish rules for handling this, perhaps a VA system for former college athletes.
