The portal could hurt depth, but I don't think it has hurt us yet.


I'm not sure what you mean by the portal being one sided.
A player has the freedom to enter the portal whenever he wants, but the current school can terminate the scholarship at the end of the semester in which the player enters. Seems to me it's pretty good for both parties--as long as/especially if everyone is honest along the way.
