I'd predict just the opposite effect.


Game attendance is down across all sports because the TV viewing experience has gotten so good. If fans can't see the games on TV, perhaps more people will be inclined to attend games in person. But, maybe that is naive of me.

In the end, I don't think it's a secret that overall interest in VT sports is directly proportional to the level of success enjoyed by its programs. If Mike Young and Justin Fuente can win with regularity, people will pay attention. If they can't win, people will tune out. I don't think coverage will make much difference to fans.

Now, if you want to debate the impact that TV coverage could have on recruiting, that is another story...
