Mekhi is using the unique "Olympic redshirt" opportunity

He earned it through his national championship. It allows him to take a second redshirt.

As far as redshirt rules, he'll be the same as any other redshirt, unattached at tournaments separate from the main team coaching staff. Guys like bless or some of the other supporting cast usually handle the open tourneys.

With mekhini expect him to have some unique opportunities. Probably Cerro pelado in Cuba like Devin. In mekhi's case with the lack of experience probably other tourneys too, Schultz as a start. Pluss hell want to qualify for wtt in 2020. Multiple team USA camps in Colorado springs. And probably some rtc exchanges. We've had friendly relationships with Penn and njrtc. Seems like.cornell may be warming up as well. And j wouldn't be shocked to see a swap with Oklahoma rtc too.
