Couple things I can tell you
the streaming services limit total screens, usually to 3. That means you can't share too much and I'm sure their pricing factors that in.
Youtube uses location to keep it somewhat in check. I was traveling and watched some YoutubeTV on my tablet and it led to my local channels and some others being locked out after a week until I logged back in from my home location.
I suspect an allowance for sharing is built into the pricing, but the screen limitations are also a control.
