I disagree with your reasoning
Overall, I'm not saying don't get season tickets, or that $220 per season tickets is a bad deal if you can make it to the games, but what makes you think the second hand prices for these tickets are going to be so much? The $220 tickets are, to be nice, not the best seats in Cassell. Unless ESPN/the ACC give us a really nice ACC schedule (see big home games on Saturday's) which hasn't been the trend, and with the projections for this year not being very kind to VT, what makes you think those tickets will sell well? Last year we had one of our best teams in school history. Plenty of people were excited about watching us play Duke and UVA, etc, because they thought we had a chance to beat those teams (and we did). I don't feel that is the perspective this year.
Also, the Hokie Club is reseating after this year (why every 3 years? I have no idea but I think it is a ridiculous policy), so that is no incentive. I'm not sure how many games I'll get to this year until I see the ACC schedule. If Duke and UVA are weeknight games, I'll probably get to them and pay far less than face on the second hand market for better seats.
