Just do your best at pointing them in the right direction.


That’s probably your #1 dad job. Hopefully they will absorb what you’re teaching them, and eventually make better decisions when they become adults.

But if they’re flying way off track, make sure you step in with an attitude adjustment. That’s also one of your “dad jobs.” You’re a parent, not their best friend. You occasionally have to make the tough call. Those are probably tougher on you than them, but sometimes it has to be done.
