I'm intrigued with the Trek Domane SL-4 and the like

That is, the latest news in bikes is going back to wider tires even for racing bikes, apparently the rolling resistance is better than the skinny 23-25 tires, but would add more weight, this one has 38 tires. A lot more grip, great stopping power w/disk breaks.

I don't have any of this, heck, someone called my bike "classic" on the last bike ride and realized while I like nice stuff, I shouldn't have gotten so caught up in gram shaving when I really needed to loose 20 pounds and am a big guy for cycling in general. This would be a perfect bike for me right now, I hypothesized all this a while back but at the time that would have meant getting a hybrid. There are downhills in ole Virginny I wasn't quite sure I could stop on. I've been waiting for this. Don't need it, but waiting for this.

$2400 but I think you can afford it. Don't go asking us for bikes under $500. You can easily go up from there (wink-wink)
