Alright bike nerds, gimme a recommendation for a road bike.

Just got back from three weeks of working on my place in the French Pyrenees and I am inspired to get a road bike. My last bike was a Trek hybrid I purchased in 1993 which at the time was the nicest thing I owned. I sold it in a garage sale a few years back and have been bikeless. I’m 51 but don’t feel a day over 87, so I don’t need a $12k Cannondale, just a decent bike to ride around the Haute-Garonne. Thank you in advance.
