IMO, too soon to panic. Dish subscribers are getting in Dish's ear about.

the ACCN.
I just got off the phone with Dish about upgrading my current hardware to the latest Hopper3 and the wireless Joeys. During the conversation I asked the lady if Dish would be adding ACCN to their sports package(s). Her comment was she was not privy to any inside information but if other Dish employees are asked about this as often as she, then there is no doubt about the interest. Her best guess is Dish will carry the network, but maybe not from day 1.
I asked if Directv being an early adopter would influence Dish and her comment was "not really". I suggested that Dish may lose a significant number of subscribers to Directv or streaming if Dish decides not to carry the network. She agreed. Her best guess is Dish will carry the network, but maybe not from day 1
I've decided to stay with Dish rather than switch to Directv, mainly because Dish offers some technology advantages I cannot get with Directv. It is mainly because my Dish receivers allow me to run my OTA antenna into the receivers and get recording capability. Only about 1/3 of my local channels are in Dish's Local package but I still watch/record ALL of them via my Dish DVR using my OTA antenna.
It seems to me it is in the best interest of Dish, ESPN and the ACC to have Dish, Comcast, Spectrum (Charter) and other regional providers offering the ACCN.
Pressure from lot of directions. If push comes to shove, I will probably subscribe to HULU Live until Dish comes around.
