... but those players you mentioned ended up ranked *much* higher than they were when they were recruited and when they committed. Guy & Jerome both committed to UVA way early in the process. Jerome was considered a 3 star recruit when he committed to Virginia and only afterwards did people take notice and elevate him to a 4 star. Guy was a known commodity and Mr Indiana basketball. Diakite was being recruited by UVA before anyone had any clue who he was because he was local. Hunter moved up from being ranked in the 80-100 range to around mid 50s after he committed to UVA, although Im not sure if his star ranking changed.
