And priorities in a person's life is supposed to remain the same

even though a person ages and things change in their life? It is unrealistic to expect a person's priorities as a single person to be the same vs. being married without children vs. married with young children vs. married with tweens vs. married with teenagers vs. married with adult children.

Now that I am in my early 40s and still single I can tell you that my priorities are definitely not the same as when I was in my 30s or 20s. In my case I find myself driving down to the Shen. Valley from NOVA on weekends more to help my father, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease a few years ago, my stepmother, and my mother around their homes. I realized very quickly that I will need to help them out more because they aren't getting any younger and that my younger brother won't be able to help much because he is now living in Florida with his family. In my case I can't help them, which often takes a full day, and spend the entire Saturday attending a VT home game, so I picked them over VT. I have no regrets with my decision because I get as much joy watching the game on the TV with them as I do when I attended a home game.

So it is possible the new "errands" are not always for the individual, but for other people in his/her family. Also, my decision had nothing to do with wins and losses.
