You fail to ....
either appreciate or understand the reality around Coach Hartman's later years. Hartman would have left earlier but, he was asked to stay and agreed because of his commitment to the program. A program he put his own money in to when funding by the administration would charitably be termed an afterthought. He in no way hung on and the thanks he got was being stabbed in the back by an associate AD and maybe his boss on some oral promises they made in trying to get him to stay. Hartman's situation could not be more different than Mason's, Allen's or some other VT coaches that may have been kept too long.
