We need to be patient. One advantage of Blackshear leaving is the experience Nolley and the Freshman will gain at the big man positions. Coach Young did pretty well given what he was given to recruit what we currently have. With Blackshear, we would have been a likely NIT Team, without him it is a rebuilding year and we have a few pieces to the longer term puzzle. What we will see in the upcoming 12 months is how Coach Young will fare against the best programs in the nation with an undermanned group and how well he can recruit given a full recruiting cycle and the benefits of the heights VT reached in the last few years.

Both Williams and Greenberg proved you can get good players to come to Virginia Tech. Williams proved that with that talent, you can compete with anyone. We had just as good a shot as Texas Tech did to win a Nation Championship in 2019. Without the loss of Clarke, Nolley and JRob for much of the season, we were a top 10 team. IT CAN BE DONE!!!

Hopefully Coach Young is up for the task and after 2 rebuilding years we will be right back where we were in 2017-2019. The good news is if he does succeed, he isn't going anywhere!!
