Compared to the rest of the G5, they're a national brand. Compared to the


P5, not so much.

The AAC just signed a TV contract with ESPN that will pay each member an average of $7.5 per school per year. Some of that may be re-negotiated with the loss of UConn but it won't change much. That is light-years ahead of the MWC, CUSA, MAC and Sunbelt. And competitively it shows. They're easily the 7th best basketball conference or better in any given year and all the best G5 football programs not named BYU or Boise are in the AAC.

They're the Tweener league. Much better than the average G5 but not close to as good as a P5.
