How would the mistakes that you mention get to the PAC12N situation.

PAC12N has no carriage and never has. You are talking about potential programming mistakes, which they can learn from. One year or even a couple of years of programming issues will not cause carriage issues, as ESPN will sign the Cable/Sat companies to multiple year deals.
