for endorsements (i.e. United Way Campaign ads on TV), merchandise, or likeness (i.e. EA Sports NCAA College Football video game).

Let's assume that this becomes law in CA. What will be interesting to see is what other states decide to pass similar laws and how quickly they do it. It is even possible that this law could be 1 of many issues that causes CA to break up into 2 states which could impact things on the academic side of the house.
