I don't disagree that everyone has problems regardless of which path


an entity decides to go down. For example, in the late 2000s or early 2010s (I forget the exact year) BYU men's soccer team decided to leave the NCAA and "go pro" by playing in a lower tier "professional" (probably closer to being semi-pro) soccer league. Then in 2017 or last year, BYU decided to re-join the NCAA.

I do know that BYU wasn't paying their players a salary during the "pro years" and they were still requiring the players to fulfill all their duties as a student (including mission trips). FWIW I believe the other teams in the league don't pay their players a huge salary. Maybe a couple hundred to low thousands per game (if that), so I don't think BYU's decision to rejoin the NCAA had to do with money. I think it was more from a competition standpoint since BYU still had an educational requirement for its players and the other teams didn't have that requirement.
