So I just got my first quote for Asphault repaving, and was suprised by

This catch all phrase in their Terms section of the contract. The terms say that I (homeowner) am responsible for "Damage to underground facilities/utilities caused by equipment necessary to carry out this contract."

I deem this to be an absolute non-starter; I am paying a company to perform a complete, and responsible task. It seems as though, through this statement the company is absolving itself of any mistake on its part, and putting that responsibility on this me.

Am I being too critical?
