Spit-balling here, but try securing power to the garage door opener when...


...it's in the full down position, then power it back up.

Might do nothing, but it might reset it's starting point. I've chased solutions to my ancient Sears garage door opener that has done that in the past. It's currently working perfectly (fingers crossed), but I know it will only last so long...

Have a replacement ready to go for the day it finally fails...
