Since this is a 401k, and I don’t have to worry about the taxes on the capital gains distributions, should I just treat that as an ordinary dividend when comparing mutual funds?

In other words, if you take something like a Vanguard S&P Index Fund (VFIAX) and compare it to the Fidelity fund from above...The S&P is up something like 18% YTD and is on pace to pay dividends (which I’m reinvesting) at around 2%. The Fidelity managed fund is up around 10%, but has already paid out over 5% if you include dividends and the capital gains distribution and is probably on pace to pay out like it did last year (assuming the market doesn’t tank). Should I just be adding these percentages up to compare...18+2 for the VFIAX and 10+5 so far for the FFFTX? If you look at some of these comparison sites, they don’t take any of these things into account.
