Everyone talks about "cutting the cord", but the cable nets keep adding sports content that makes it harder to get your favorite teams without some kind of cable subscription whether it is traditional or through one of the streaming content providers like Sling, Fubo, PSVue, DirecTVNow, or the others.

Something interesting that I caught the last few seconds of on NFL Radio the other day, that after this season, the NFL has "look in" period where they can open the Sunday Ticket package back up again, and the word is that Amazon, ESPN+, and DAZN are all rumored to be very interested in bidding on the streaming portion. The feeling is that if the package is shared by DirecTV(satellite/cable) and a streaming company that DirecTV will bid less, but the streaming bid will make the total dollars for the package a lot larger. DirecTV doesn't make a lot of money on the package selling it to individuals, they make it by charging their commercial (bars/restaurants) customers BIG money to get it. DirecTV will give you Sunday Ticket for free if you are a residential subscriber if you threaten to cancel your service. I did it several times.
