Abe Pollin changed the name after his buddy Yitzhak Rabin


was assassinated. Claimed the name glorified weapons that killed his friend. Specious logic at best.

The Wizards were going to change the name back to Bullets until Gilbert Arenas showed up in the locker room with an arsenal of loaded weapons, waving them around. They’re not sending their best, folks.
