This may be Mike Martin's last hurrah tonight

He is a gentleman and an acquaintance via my church. A great family and very down to earth...not a pretentious bone in their bodies. Mike is a country boy from the Piedmont of North Carolina who loves golfing when he's not around baseball. He has helped hundreds of boys head into manhood with solid guidance.

His son Junior, aka 'Meat' was a catcher for Mike and has been a key assistant coach for 23 seasons. He is a leading candidate to replace his father. I have linked an article on this subject.
