Turner now has B/R Live for streaming
Turner launched their version of ESPN+ last fall, B/R Live that streams some of the sports that they have. They had some of the UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues' games on this past season, and they have some of their other international sports streaming on it.
Turner also just announced that they will be broadcasting a new pro wrestling company on TNT starting this fall, so it sounds like they may be in acquisition mode for sports type programming.
I just can't see some private equity firm putting $500M-750M into something that is talking to somebody about a future contract however. I would think they would want concrete details so that they can assess the deal much better than promises. Without a GOR in place, the California schools could decide to leave the conference for the BigXII and leave the PAC trying to backfill with Fresno, SDSU, SJSU , and/or New Mexico/Nev/UNLV. That would not be very attractive to television and definitely not to a private equity firm.
