I agree with your "not the most athletic" assessment...


...but I would think playing with potential lottery picks would be a better barometer wrt how he may fair in the league , which is mostly lottery type picks. I would love to see KBJ stay at VT , but practicing against those types on a daily basis would be more beneficial to his development imo.
