There have been outstanding softball players from small high schools...

that did very well in Division 1. Almost all the top players from small high schools play travel ball. Angela Tincher played at James River H.S. (VHSL Class 2A), a school with 540 students. JMU's Jailyn Ford attended Bath County H.S. (VHSL Class 1A) with only 205 students.
