Gray was offered a job. (Brown wasn't.) However, Gray was asked


to take a pay cut to bring his salary to level of some others.

My understanding is he accepted the job and then shortly left for Florida (i.e., closer to home thing).

No inside info; going off what I read on this board (subject to my failing memory).
