The numbers reflect different things, but if you want me to take a stand..

Then it's absolutely 40 if not more when it comes to exposure, because what we got in the 80's under Moir, while nice to think about, pales in comparison to what we've gotten the last 3 years. The sport and media landscape is so much different now than it was then it's hard to compare. It's harder to debate success of the team, but we've absolutely had the VT name and highlights seen by more people under Buzz than at any time in history.

The Metro isn't in the same conversation as the ACC when it comes to competition, media coverage, and difficulty of building a program from the ground up. Moir had great, exciting teams that brought a level of consistency to VT basketball that hadn't been matched until now.

Perhaps the biggest sticking point for me is I'd never heard of Charlie Moir until I started visiting this board. Never on campus, never at a tailgate, never on old NCAAB highlights, etc

Full disclosure I'm only 30 years old and have only been watching basketball for 24 years or so, but I know a fair amount about CBB history and am very familiar with Denny Crum and Louisville during that time period as I was a UL fan growing up. VT was never in those nostalgic conversations amongst fans when I was living in Louisville, it was all Memphis State, UK, and Cincinnati.
