The problem is, from the time I was in 6th grade, I was force fed
that I had to go to college, a good college, and that I had to get a degree to be able to get a job. That is what every millennial was taught. Were they taught how to do this responsibly? Probably not and that would be the fault of the Gen X/Baby Boom parents and teachers of these kids.
And we weren't taught that your degree needs to have a viable field, just that once you get a degree, you'll get a viable job that will provide you with enough income for your life. And why did Gen X'ers/Baby Boomers decide that you HAD to have a college degree to get just about any career oriented job? Why did they all stop hiring 18-19-20 year olds that could work their way up through the company and gain experience instead of paying thousands of dollars to get a generic education?
My point? There's a way to blame any single generation for these problems. And it's really getting old that people are crapping on millennials non-stop when they have created just as many problems.
