Given injury potential

and the average career longevity playing for pay sooner rather than later is hard to debate. I also understand YOUR PREFERENCE not to play on a bad team. However, your reasoning has a number of potential flaws. Playing meaningful games and getting noticed is as much about competition as it is about regular versus post season play. Showcasing skills has everything to do with level of competition and whether the offense runs through a player and the possibilties are clearly greater where a player is the primary option as opposed to one of many. Even playing against double teams or defenses geared to focus on a single player allows opportunities to show skills that can be invaluable to a player who will be one of many on a professional roster. In summary, the pro view you hold is not unreasonable but, outside of a desire to chase a championship none of your other reasons necessarily favor other programs over VT and may even argue in favor of VT.
