Your math is right. He was commenting on the ratio in your example


Your example has the favorite ML as -210 and the dog as +300. I think his comment was that in Vegas the ratio would probably be reversed with the favorite as -300 and the dog as +210. Vegas wants to maximize what you have to bet on favorites (no easy money) and limit what you can win on the dogs in case of upsets.

But your math on the payouts is correct.
