I’m bothered less about the loss of Watts the character than I am the
Trained team participant. He didn’t necessarily walk out with the offensive playbook, but he did essentially walk out with the defensive playbook- the latest version of unc should now be better to scheme against VTs defense with watts insider experience.
Granted the game is on 10/19, so unc will have footage, but he can now give the receivers inside understanding on individual player tendencies, etc. that even a skilled observer might not pick up. He could obviously provide insider understanding of VT plays and players on offense, having practiced against them on a daily basis for two years.
I just don’t understand how one could develop a close bond with “brothers” and then go play for a competing team. I don’t believe in any family-related excuse either, but I have no inside understanding of watts and his issues so no more comments there.
