Sadly, I think a lot of this is accurate.
There simply isn't a ton of talent across the board on this defense. And based on the looks of it, things aren't going to get better through recruiting.
One silver lining I see is Justin Hamilton. Nix struggled last season greatly. He didn't fully grasp the scheme & calls and therefore struggled to either get the right call in or to get the right call in on time. This created havoc in the secondary. Justin Hamilton has a very keen understanding of both the scheme and the calls. This alone should give the team a major upgrade in production from a purely schematic standpoint even if the talent is average.
