So far, he hasn't been anywhere with draft-worthy RB talent on roster

If you go back even beyond Memphis, to when he was OC at TCU, the only time he ever had someone on the roster who was worth an actual draft pick (i.e. not McMillian, who was UDFA), was Tony Pollard, who was redshirting in Fuente's final year at Memphis (and actually played his college career more at WR than RB).

This pervasive belief among VT fans that Fuente is bound and determined to specifically under-utilize RBs is comical. Maybe it's because they got used to seeing years where the previous offensive coaches would just keep doing the same thing over and over, regardless of how well it was working. But if anyone seriously thinks that a bona fide big time talent RB (Kevin Jones, Lee Suggs, David Wilson, Ryan Williams) wouldn't get 25+ touches per game, please contact me immediately to inquire about some stunning oceanfront property in the heart of Nebraska.
