Course is a little soft. Tee shot landed in fairway, bounced forward about
3 or 4 feet on one hop, then rolled 6 or 8 inches and came to rest in an existing pitch mark in the fairway. He initially argued that his ball landed there and was embedded do he was due relief. On course TV reporter told him it landed further back and bounced forward. So he then said that when it bounced forward it imbedef on the hop. Rules official wasn't buying it and says it's an existing pitch mark. Do now he argues that it enlarged the existing pitch mark when it landed. Rules official viewed TV tape and says no. After several more minutes of arguing to no avail he asks for a second opinion.
Second rules official arrives. Agrees with first official. Kuchar continues to argue. Finally after 10+ minutes he finally plays it, still argung his point.
As officials tried to tell him, there is no way that ball made any indentation on the low short hop and no way it enlarged the existing dimple.
