Brewer did not have his spot locked and lost to Nico after losing to Graff.


I realized that with the weird format (US Open champ straight to the finals), you could actually have three guys with a claim to be the "true 2nd".

Let's assume that in the 61kg bracket, Palmer had beaten Fausz and went on to finish 3rd. Then there would be three separate guys with only one loss, all to the eventual champion:

- Palmer (had he finished 3rd)
- Megaludis (lost in the finals before the best-of-3)
- Brewer (lost twice in best-of-3)

I wonder if they would have had two separate matches (Palmer vs. Nico, winner vs. Brewer) in that case?
