Maybe, she was a pinch hitter today. Which means the coach must have

Confidence in her hitting but it sure seemed like someone who would be more of a slap type hitter for a single than one for power. If her heel came down at the start of her stance, she’d be out of the batters box. I know if you step out of the box hitting it you’re out but maybe it’s ok to start off slightly outside of the box. If it isn’t ok, then it wouldn’t surprise me if a ref called her on it sometime.
