The NCAA bylaws doesn't allow a game to count as a conference

game for 1 team and a non-conference game for the other team. It either counts as a conference or non-conference game for both teams.

If the ACC is going to go with multiple divisions, then it probably will have to go with 4 divisions because I don't think the math works out for 3 divisions. The only issue I have with multiple divisions is the method the ACC uses to determine which 2 teams get to play in the CCG. If a conference wants to go with multiple divisions, then it should at least have a semi-final round so the 4 teams can settle it on the field instead of relying on a poll to determine who gets to play in the CCG.
