There may be help coming for next season (from the football msg board)

Without having to worry about school work or a college decision, Kadum was able to relax during the spring semester, which may have helped put his name on the radar of some Major League Baseball teams.

“We got put out in the second round by Decatur but pitching wise, I broke the single season strikeout record with 97 strikeouts in nine starts. I broke the single game strikeout record with 16. I batted .428, this was by far my best year of baseball. My coach thinks it is because I wasn’t thinking about college decisions or anything, and I agree with him, I just went out there and played.

Kadum was scouted twice by the Atlanta Braves and once by the Miami Marlins, but he isn’t focused on playing professional baseball at this point in time. He registered a 94 MPH fastball during his senior season.

At Virginia Tech, he is interested in helping out the baseball program if approved by the coaching staff.

“I have been considering it heavily. I would love to do it at Virginia Tech if possible, but I want to come on and be a pitcher only. That is something I would have to talk to Coach Fuente about and see if it is a possibility but football comes first.”
