That'll depend on a lot of uncertain factors
I have to concur with a lot of VirginiaCards' assessment. The 2019 roster is more talented and deeper than 2018, but is underperforming. Coaching is likely a major contributor to this situation - which is leading to questions if not about Szefc then at least the assistants.
Rumor has it that a bunch of the FR and Jucos are evaluating whether they'll return for 2020 - due in large part to dissatisfaction with coaching/managing.
Incoming FR class next fall again is huge - PG has it at 17. Plus I'm aware of at least 1 Juco pitcher coming from St. Johns R. St. So at least 18 new guys. That'll guarantee a lot of new adjustments yet again next year.
Any improvement in 2020 will depend on how many current players return, whether staff remains the same, and how well new players mesh with Szefc's program and returning players.
