The questions I've been discussing with a few friends - what ending would
satisfy you at this point? (ep 5 spoilers below)
With episode 5, they have firmly entrenched Dany as the "big bad" existential threat and Jon has clearly been portrayed as the protagonist.
Will it be satisfying for him to be the hero and win? Is it better/worse if he does it but at the cost of all/the majority/some small portion of his Stark family?
Is it more "satisfying" at least in terms of fitting with the Thrones style if Dany ends up victorious but at great cost to her allies, to her original aspirations and to her sanity?
Better if some out of the blue candidate usurps them both and ends up on the throne?
I'm really not sure, after the events of season 8, what the ending could be that would leave me satisfied. That seems to be the idea in interviews - it will be bittersweet. In other words, I do't think anyone will get everything they want. Also, because the show has a massive following, just as many people will hate it as they love it.
