We do

continue to support the Hokie Club and the University. The drop in Hokie Club membership does not include us but probably includes many other former season ticket holders.
What we don't do is support the Athletic Department that totally disregarded the scholarship we funded as a long term commitment. WE still honor the agreed upon monetary commitment the Athletic Department chose to breach. That scholarship now has been transferred out of athletics into 2 other University programs- we continue to fund them even though our obligation has been met. The interest earned off the scholarship(s) annually provides opportunities to other students. If we choose to continue at some time to once again buy season tickets, I feel the per seat charge the AD instituted is sufficient enough as an additional contribution given their actions as previously noted. Their decision to not acknowledge the scholarship and still institute a per seat charge to me is short sided and greedy. It is what I consider a poor business decision on the AD's part both short term and long term. Perhaps it is symbiotic of many of their decisions- that isn't for me to say but certainly it is to wonder. For now, it is an economic decision for us . I still give the same amount in total to the University I did before, I just control where the money goes as opposed to the AD dictating where my money goes.
Bottom line to me is the entire process has been grossly mismanaged and was not thought out prior to its institution. The arrogance demonstrated by the Assistant Athletic Director in conveying the program at the outset, clearly was/is part of the problem. The exact concerns expressed in the meetings I attended are what has happened.
Membership is down
Season tickets are down and
people are discovering a 65 inch TV is less than the cost of 2 game tickets
not to mention the other costs associated with the event.
Hopefully it can be fixed and corrected but until that time, a $6 ticket to the Miami game bought the night before on Stub Hub seems like a smarter decision than the program created by the AD.
