As I said - there's a lot to go into ERA and a low ERA "could" be a false positive. You can't conclude either way at this point. Lower "Runs against" could be because of higher fielding % also. For pitching - you have to look at how many free bases they're giving up first. That's what the pitcher can control. Everything else is a combination of the team. Low fielding % and higher runs against "could" be due to poor defense and not poor pitching. So you see that runs allowed could be credited to multiple components.
Talent: Is definitely better. you have to take some deep thoughts and think of why improved talent is walking more hitters? why improved talent is hitting with less average. BTW - we had the same amount of injuries to starters last year, and will have for years to come - that's baseball. [Post edited by VirginiaCards at 05/10/2019 5:50PM]
