kangaroo court. People who think they have skills and powers that they don't. Probably watched a bunch of courtroom dramas and feel they are master litigators.
The NCAA has shown a clear pattern of backing down to attorneys like that guy. Why go it alone? Seems a tad arrogant and tunnel visioned. Like you say, they damn well better win.
