Swofford's viewpoint is cozy to
the fact that his precious university where he was AD, UNCheat, flipped the bird to the NCAA and associated investigating bodies, and made a mockery of academic integrity while getting off scott free.
The problem with the new transfer rules and portal is not that it gives student-athletes more choices and opportunities, the problem is that in typical NCAA fashion, they administer those rules in completely ludicrous ways. For example, granting a one-year sit-out waiver to Justin Fields and Tate Martell with no questions asked, yet denying Brock Hoffman's family hardship request because he lives 5 miles beyond the threshold, is assinine. Yes, I know rules are rules, but this truly reveals that the NCAA does not have their priorities straight. It's all about the legal tender, nothing more.
