He said "it's not the end of the world" and I agree with him for once. We might lose some and we might gain some. If someone does not want to be in Blacksburg, let him go somewhere he wants to be. If another kid really wants to be in Blacksburg, let's get him on board ASAP if he/she is quality. Athletic scholarships are not prison sentences and VT is definitely not a prison camp. Scholarships should be two-way agreements - you play here for our school and we give you an education and, hopefully, good coaching. If either party becomes disgruntled, end the agreement and let the kid go somewhere else. Kids don't want to transfer when they are happy. Figure out what is happening to cause their disagreement, and either change your stance or let the kid go with no negativity. Complaining about an NCAA agreed-to policy only makes the complaining coach look small. Some ACC programs are experiencing positives from the portal - if Fu thinks it is unfair he needs to look at the reasons for transfers and own whatever shows up.
