He was the #2 up and coming coach at the time, and that seems about right.


Tom Herman was the top of the class, but, like you said, he was destined for Texas. The guy besides Herman and Fuente that people were buzzing about back then (not necessarily VT folks, but college football fans in general) was PJ Fleck. He's done pretty well, but I'll take Fuente.

We weren't going to get Herman, and the only guy available that I maybe would've preferred was Richt.
