Re: BTW, who are the other 4?? tOSU, PS, Iowa, Oklahoma State???
FYI - Those might seem like the logical top 4, but for people less familiar with wrestling recruiting - as compared to football - the perennial top teams in wrestling are not always at the top of the rankings each year. With only 9.9 scholarships for a whole team of about 30 guys, the coaches are not looking to grab every top star possible each year: they simply can't. Instead, if they have premiere level starters locked in place at several weights for the next 3-4 years, they focus on the one or two upcoming roster holes (two years out) - plus maybe trying to grab that one or two superstars at any weight that they just don't want to miss.
The top 20 HS guys are trying to get a full scholarship or something close to it: you can only have so many of those at any one time. In contrast, every football recruit gets a full scholarship, period. So, yes, Alabama will load up on 4 and 5-star recruits every year and always be near the top of recruiting rankings.
Penn State is actually very low down in the recruiting rankings this year, but that just means they have most of their slots filled for the next couple of years and they are saving their powder for next year's recruiting class in all likelihood.
